"I think Seeds of Hope has influenced my thinking a bit in the way of how I handle situations that could get heated and seeing different perspectives."
What is your name, how old are you, and where are you from?
Hello my name is Ethan Wilson, I'm 21 years old, and I was born in Belfast.
What is your current background? Are you studying, working, volunteering, or exploring your next steps?
I got involved with the Seeds of Hope programme through Youth Action NI. Up until recently I have been trying to figure out what I would like to do with my life. Thanks to Seeds of Hope, Youth Action NI and Oasis Caring in Action, I have found a passion in youth work.
What hobby or interest do you have that best reflects who you are as a person?
Two hobbies that I have are football and music, as I go to a lot of concerts, as well as play for Glentoran Inclusion FFA.
What are your personal and/or professional goals for the future?
Some of the goals I have are to become a youth worker, win a couple of trophies with Glentoran Inclusion FFA, and to help young people with neurodivergence like me.
Has the Seeds of Hope programme influenced your direction, outlook, or mindset in any way? If so, how?
I think Seeds of Hope has influenced my thinking a bit in the way of how I handle situations that could get heated and seeing different perspectives.
What aspects of the programme have you enjoyed the most?
Some moments I have enjoyed on Seeds of Hope include the residentials and getting to meet people from different places and cultures and learning how to become leaders together.
What key insights, skills, or experiences have you gained through participating in the programme?
Something that stuck with me was the presentation members of the group did on the conflict in Sudan because I had no idea about it and how harrowing the situation is. I look forward to the rest of Seeds of Hope and continuing to grow with the group.
Also the leaders Fiona, Adam and Kobe are legends.
